One of several paintings that I recently removed from the market because in my advanced age I’m realizing how much my family appreciates them, and I’d like my wife and kids to be able to have those pieces of me when I’m gone. While I always believe that my best paintings are still ahead of me, I’m finding that each stage of my creative path is so temporary and ephemeral and so each painting is a moment in that evolution, never to be revisited again in quite the same way. So this one now hangs in my private tattoo studio @turningshadowtattoo and classes up the space 😃. This is “Goddess Of Mercy” from 2022 (30x36in) and was exhibited by Gallery 1261 at the LA Art Show. It was inspired in part by one our family favorite movies, the animated masterpiece “Ponyo”. The model is @tiffanycole

On the final day of this @empireinks trip we got some painting in. It was awesome. We did some sightseeing as well (thank you @jacobsheffieldart !). My mentor @fineartfirst brought me out to Grand Junction Colorado to learn tattoo skills from the incredible @jacobsheffieldart at @elysium_studios . I want to share some of my experiences but I guess I’m posting them in reverse order. More to follow. Pictured painting 🎉🔥🎨 @fineartfirst @jacobsheffieldart @brandonfulller @lunettatattoo @jacobjamestattoo
