This tattoo is a reproduction of a painting by George Frederic Watts in 1886 and is titled Hope. I had the pleasure of viewing the original painting while at the Tate Gallery in London in 2002. It would have been great to have gotten a photo of my friend Erik who sports this tattoo, standing in front of the five foot tall painting.
